Nature Photography Walk
Please join Gretchen Groebel, Director of Community Engagement at Willistown Conservation Trust (WCT) and David Hucker for a casual nature photography walk at Kirkwood Preserve.
During the walk we will take time to explore our nature preserves through the art of photography and observe native plants and trees we see, discussing their benefits to the natural ecosystem and wildlife.
David Hucker will lead us in the creative process as we learn to look deeply at the natural world. He will cover photography philosophy, camera techniques, and the art of composition. Please bring a digital, controllable camera, but cell phones are also acceptable. This preserve experience is suited for ages 16 and up.
Feel free to bring a friend or family member.
David Hucker was born in Berwyn and has always enjoyed walking in the local countryside with a camera. While he spent his career caring for trees, he has always had a passion for capturing the beauty of nature. In retirement, he has taken his passion for photography to a professional level with his work now seen at regional and national juried art shows. David has enjoyed demonstrating to his friends and followers that you need not travel to the Rockies, the coast of Maine, or the Everglades to find art in nature. You can find beauty and peace, just by walking through our neighborhood meadows. David’s work can be viewed here: www.huckerphoto.com
Weather and Accessibility:
Please dress for the weather, wear hiking or walking shoes that you do not mind getting dirty. Rain or shine unless severe weather is in the forecast. Please note that there is uneven terrain and grade changes at each of our preserves.
Free event, donations to support our efforts are always welcome.
