“Great Backyard Bird Count” Walk at Rushton Woods Preserve
Join the Trust’s bird team and participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count at Rushton Woods Preserve! Our bird experts and volunteers will walk with the groups to talk about bird watching basics and why the preserve’s habitat is so important for birds and our local wildlife. There is no experience necessary and this is a family friendly program.
The group will meet at the Rushton Farm (911 Delchester Road, Newtown Square, PA) at 9:00am – 10:30am. Please dress warm and wear comfortable footwear for uneven (and possibly snowy and muddy!) terrain.
Space is limited for this preserve walk, so please scroll down to let us know you’re coming!
What is the “Great Backyard Bird Count”?
“Each February, for four days, the world comes together for the love of birds. Over these four days we invite people to spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting them to us. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations.” – excerpt taken from www.birdcount.org
