Avian Adventures with Aaron

The earliest harbingers of spring are upon us, and bring with it the phenology of the seasons. Buttercups and Tulips in regal display. Symphonies of Spring Peepers sound out from soggy seeps and vernal pools. A ponderous group of naturalists pause to bask in the energy of a passing breeze mixed with the songs of passerines. Palm Wabler, Myrtle Warbler, and Pileated Woodpecker plead with their neighbors and friends on foot below. The Carolina Wren never truly quieted down for any extended period, and April would be the rarest of exceptions. At Ashbridge Preserve, you can find nature in all of it’s forms waiting. With a small stream crossing, growing wildflower meadows, and a bolstered riparian restoration corridor, this preserve provides experience and connection that can’t be quantified by words alone. Will we find beavers looking to establish new dens? Or maybe a pair of Wood Ducks have located an accomodating tree cavity along Ridley Creek. Come along as WCT and friends explore the many secrets and prizes of a Willistown gem. Birders and naturalists of all skill and age levels are invited to join this two-hour adventure and contribute to the fun!
