Inclusion, Access, and Belonging

Our Commitment to Inclusive Conservation
Willistown Conservation Trust – Statement on Inclusion, Access, and Belonging

At Willistown Conservation Trust, our mission is:

“To preserve and manage the open land, rural character, scenic, recreational, historic, agricultural, and natural resources of the Willistown area and nearby communities, and to share these unique resources with people of all ages and backgrounds to inspire, educate, and develop a lifelong connection to the land and the natural world.”

We believe that nature and open spaces should be available and welcoming to everyone. We recognize that not all members of our community have historically had equal opportunities to enjoy these resources. That understanding guides our ongoing commitment to making our work accessible, inviting, and engaging for all.

To support this, we commit to:

· Ensuring our properties, programs, and events are welcoming and open to everyone.
· Encouraging participation and removing barriers so more people can experience nature and conservation.
· Listening to our community and adapting our programs based on feedback.
· Including diverse perspectives in our staff, leadership, and partnerships to strengthen our work.
· Partnering with local groups to expand opportunities for outdoor learning and engagement.

· Regularly reviewing our progress and improving where we can.

This is ongoing work. We are committed to listening, learning, and providing meaningful opportunities for everyone to connect with the natural world. A healthy environment and strong, connected communities go hand in hand—and everyone should have the chance to be part of both.
