Streamside Stroll at Kirkwood Preserve | Water Quality Month
Join Lauren McGrath and Watershed Protection Program staff for a morning stroll along Crum Creek at Kirkwood Preserve. As we walk along the stream, we will share what we have found from nearly seven years of stream research, showcase how we are working to improve the health of Crum Creek, and search for some of Crum Creek’s most elusive residents, including mink, beaver, and freshwater mussels.
Kirkwood Preserve has natural surface trails with mild to moderate grade, so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Though there will be opportunities to get in the stream, there will be plenty to see without getting in the water. This event is family friendly.
Funding for this event was awarded through the “Protect Your Drinking Water” grant program, administered by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council with funding from Aqua, an Essential Utilities company.
