PARTNERSHIP EVENT | Reversing the Decline of Grassland Birds

This is a partnership event with the Brandywine Conservancy.

Grassland birds, like the bobolink, are experiencing the largest landbird decline of any habitat group, but adjustments to field management through collaborative efforts can reverse this trend.

This talk, led by Zoe Warner, Ph.D., a Grassland Bird Consultant with the Willistown Conservation Trust, will focus on the Grassland Bird Collaboration (GBC), which works with landowners and farmers to conserve and augment grassland bird populations through conservation land management practices, research, education, and community engagement. The GBC provides an example of how birds can be useful in fostering diverse partnerships to connect people to the land and extend the value of preserved land by enhancing wildlife habitat on private property. The success of the GBC program lies in its effort to balance conservation and agricultural needs to advance mutual benefits and biodiversity on working lands and beyond.
