Topics include ways you can help nature at home from planting natives and bird watching to the coffee you buy!
Discover some of the wonders of nature and how humans can help contribute to conservation of the natural world on which we depend. The course will focus on birds with a dip into Ornithology 101,introduce students to the fascinating world of insects with some charismatic stars like fireflies, and also touch on hot conservation topics of our day like regenerative farming and its potential to combat climate change. Students will also learn tips on how to garden and manage their yards for birds and beneficial insects. Additionally, we will discover the world of aquatic insects and the importance of watershed conservation.
This is a virtual program presented on Zoom. A Zoom link will be shared with you via email after you register for the program. This virtual class will meet every Tuesday starting October 25 – November 23, 2021. We invite you to register for all five sessions or sign up for individual meetings.
