Building a Relationship with Nature through Your Yard

The Delaware Valley Ornithological Club (DVOC) is one of the oldest ornithology organizations in the United States. Blake Goll will be speaking about “Building a Relationship With Nature Through Your Yard”

As humans, we are built to live in connection with others. It’s what makes us feel happy, whole, and inspired while even living longer. Relationships are the roots that make us who we are and allow us to become who we’re meant to be, but how many times do we consider our relationship with the natural world as being integral to our health, growth, and wellbeing? This lecture will look at our yards as places we can curate to support the birds, butterflies, bees, and plants that ultimately enrich our world and nourish the most important relationship each of us can ever have: connection to nature. In addition to covering resources on how to integrate more native ecology into our yards, we’ll explore creative ideas on how to interact with the biodiversity in our backyards–and why it’s so important. Anyone can register for the meeting, in-person or remote via zoom.
